Our Story
InSight was originally inspired by Ashmita's grandfather, who began rapidly losing his vision to macular degeneration when she was younger. As she helped him with everyday tasks, she noticed how much independence her grandfather was forced to give up. The idea for InSight stemmed from wanting to help him regain a piece of that.
Together, Ashmita and Harsha built InSight to make visual information (like labels, objects, and environments) both audible & accessible. What started as a personal solution has grown into a tool designed to support independence, privacy, and dignity for anyone navigating the world without sight.
They strongly believe accessibility should always be available and shaped by the people who rely on it, and their tool, InSight, is built to be accessibility that empowers.
